Three thousand years of longing

Although Alithea Binnie is fairly satisfied with life, she is skeptical of the world. In Istanbul, she meets an elf who offers her freedom in exchange for the fulfillment of three wishes. But Alithea is very knowledgeable, and she knows that stories related to wish-making do not end well. The elf explained to her why she did so, and told her about her glorious past. She is captivated by the story told by the elves and ends up making one of the most surprising wishes.
